We treat a product as sour when its name or description clearly says sour. Everything else is listed as sweet.

A bundle is convenient for tasting, sharing or restocking. Pick & Mix lets you create your own bag from four portions of available favourites.

Halal is an Arabic word meaning permitted or lawful under Islamic rules. At Lala, you will find halal sweets, with vegan varieties marked separately. Ingredient information is shown on each product page.

Haram means prohibited. For food, this particularly includes pork-derived ingredients and alcohol; the origin and processing of animal-derived ingredients can also matter.

No. Vegan excludes animal-derived ingredients, while vegetarian may include milk, eggs or honey. Halal follows separate religious requirements. A product can be halal without being vegan.

No. That statement alone does not describe every ingredient or its source and processing. A halal assessment also needs the other product-specific information and supporting evidence.

Halal slaughter follows Islamic requirements for permitted animal species. The EHZ standard requires invoking God’s name, animals being alive at slaughter and considerate handling. For animal gelatine, these requirements can form part of checking its origin. Details depend on the standard applied.

No blanket statement applies. Some halal standards prohibit stunning; others allow certain methods under specified conditions. A specific claim needs the applicable standard and evidence for the relevant supply chain.

No. Beef gelatine initially identifies the animal species. Origin, slaughter, processing and the relevant standard can also matter to a halal assessment. The description does not replace product-specific documentation.

Not automatically. A certificate may cover particular products, production sites, processes and a validity period. What matters is whether the specific goods fall within that scope. A company name or logo alone does not answer that question.

No. It depends on the animal, source and processing. The gelatine source is product-specific, so check the information for the variety you choose.

The exact recipe, source and processing matter. We only make product-specific statements supported by product or supplier documentation. If anything is unclear, please ask before ordering.

No. An E number alone does not always reveal a substance’s source. The information and documentation for the specific ingredient in the product are what matter.

No. Halal and allergens are separate issues. Always check the ingredients and allergen information for the specific variety; a halal label alone is not sufficient for an allergy.

Check the individual product page and the pack you receive. For a mix, you need the information for every included variety. If something is missing, tell us the product and pack size so we can check the right information.

These labels describe different things. Vegan does not guarantee that a product is gluten-free or has no traces of allergens. The ingredients and allergen information for the specific pack matter; we do not make a blanket promise for the whole range.

E numbers identify food additives, such as colours, preservatives or gelling agents. They help name a substance consistently. Approval as a food additive is not halal or vegan certification.

No. E300, for example, is ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, and E440 identifies pectins. The number alone does not reveal every manufacturing method or raw-material source. Natural, synthetic, vegan and halal describe different things.

E471 identifies mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, used as emulsifiers. The fatty acids can come from plant or animal fats. The E number alone therefore proves neither plant origin nor halal status.

Carmine is a red colour obtained from cochineal insects. E120 identifies this colouring group; an ingredient list may also name carminic acid. It is animal-derived and not vegan. Religious assessment depends on the halal standard applied.

Shellac is a resin produced by lac insects. As E904, it can be used as a glazing agent, for example to create a shiny surface. It is not plant-derived. A halal assessment of a particular product needs the relevant supporting evidence.

Gelatine is a protein obtained from animal collagen, for example from cattle, pigs or fish. It helps give gummy sweets their characteristic elastic texture. The animal species used is a fact about the specific product.

No. Pectins, such as E440, occur in plants including fruit; agar, E406, is obtained from algae. Both can form gels, but neither is animal gelatine and they behave differently in recipes. Using them does not by itself make the whole recipe vegan.

No. Even without gelatine, a product can contain other animal-derived ingredients, such as milk, honey or carmine. A vegan choice depends on the entire recipe. Gelatine-free is therefore a narrower statement than vegan.

Yes. Lala Sweets delivers within Switzerland. Payments are made in CHF.

Delivery within Switzerland normally takes 2–4 business days. It may take longer during periods of high demand or around public holidays.

Shipping costs CHF 7.90 up to 2 kg and CHF 10.00 from 2.01 to 5 kg. It is free from an order value of CHF 99. The amount shown at checkout is final.
